Montana State Not Fair ?
Great Falls has run
as park of the Montana State Fair since the mid 1940's. With a purse
value of 2 it's not the lowest but you would expect a lot of bottom
level claimers at this mostly quarter horse meet.
In 2011 for the first time since the nineteen forties Great Falls went dark. It remains to be seen if racing will ever return.
In a surprising turn of events racing is scheduled to return to the Montana State Fair in 2013. It's hard to say whether racing will continue at Great Falls as Montana doesn't seem to concerned about the future of the sport in it's state.
