Carol Skawinski's career spanned twenty three years, though it had a few large gaps. She was only one of a few seventy riders to race into the twenty first century.
Her career started out in on June 14, 1978 at the final year of racing at Narragansett Park, her first mount was Sandy My Sandy. A month or so latter she got her first win at Gansett, aboard Apple Stralton on July 17. The next year she rode at Finger Lakes, before returning to New England in 1980.
After a gap of six years she returned to ride at Rockingham Park. Over the next fourteen years she did some riding in Florida, New Jersey, Delaware, Pennsylvania, West Virginia as well as New England. In 2001 she returned to New England to ride a handful of races, her final at Brockton Fair, on June 30, 2001 riding Buna Beach.
